Buy loose tea
Why loose tea?
Loose tea means that the tea leaves are in the packaging and are not packed in a tea bag. The tea leaves contain the best aromas and flavours because they have not been processed into small pieces, as is the case with pre-packaged tea. This ensures that you can drink the best flavours and the freshest tea. Exactly as it is intended.
How do you make tea with loose leaves?
Because loose tea consists of broken or whole leaves and cannot be placed loose in a cup, you need a tea filter bag. Depending on the type of tea, you know how many grams of loose tea to use. Put the leaves in the tea filter and then lower it into your cup of hot water. The tea leaves expand so that the water can move freely through them. This allows all the flavours, aromas, vitamins and minerals to spread through the water. The temperature of the water and how long the leaves should remain in the water varies depending on the type of tea. Once the specified time has elapsed, remove the tea filter from your cup and enjoy truly fresh tea.
Loose tea from Kaldi
Kaldi has a range of teas consisting of different types and flavors. The types are: green tea, black tea, rooibos, herbal tea, and fruit tea. We have our own flavors for each type. One flavour is fruity, for example, while another is a little spicier. Discover the benefits and our flavours for each type of tea below.
Green tea
Green tea is the least processed type of tea. This ensures that the flavor, vitamins, and minerals remain abundant in the leaves. This type of tea is harvested three times a year between April and August. After harvesting, the leaves are dried, cooled, and dried again. This is done using the sun or an oven and a refrigerator. The leaves are then sieved and packaged. The main benefits of green tea are:
- Good for the heart and blood vessels
- Help improve skin problems
- Reduces stress and fatigue
- Stimulating brain function
Black tea
Black tea comes from the Camelia Sinensis, which originates from China. It is important for the shrub to be planted in fertile soil with a warm and humid climate. This allows the aromas of the leaves to develop better. The tea leaves are picked and crushed. This releases juices and enzymes that cause the leaves to turn black. Finally, the leaves are dried and then packaged. The main advantages of loose black tea are:
- Lowering blood sugar levels
- Reducing the risk of stroke
- Improving concentration
- Improving heart health
Rooibos tea
Rooibos contains virtually no caffeine or tannin and is therefore not considered a true tea variety. Because rooibos does not contain tannin, the flavour of the tea is less bitter. Rooibos has only been used to make tea since the 20th century and originates from South Africa. The main benefits of loose rooibos tea are:
- Rich in vitamins and minerals
- Counteracting inflammation
- Contains substances that are good for your skin
- Improving heart health
Herbal tea
Herbal tea consists of a mixture of herbs, spices, and/or dried plants. It does not contain any tea leaves. This makes herbal tea caffeine-free and very healthy. There are many different herbal tea variations because there is no need to take the tea plant into account. It is important with herbal tea that the water is not too hot, because then the substances are lost before you drink the tea. The main advantages of herbal tea are:
- Improving digestion
- Calming effect on the nervous system
- Increasing resistance
- Fall asleep faster
Fruit tea
Fruit tea usually consists of a base of hibiscus leaf, apple, and rosehip peel. The addition of flavourings and fruits creates a delicate taste. Because no tea plant is used and the production process is relatively simple, many different flavours of fruit tea can be made. The main advantages of fruit tea are:
- Contains many vitamins and antioxidants
- Caffeine-free (unless mixed with black or green tea)
- Improving resistance
- Positive effect on almost all bodily functions
