Brazil is by far the world's largest producer of coffee. Currently, Brazil grows about a third of the world's coffee, although in the past the market share was about 80 percent.

Coffee was imported from French Guiana in 1727, causing coffee to spread quickly and the coffee industry in Brazil to grow rapidly. Brazil, according to some connoisseurs, emphasizes quantity and less quality, but has a number of refined coffees that we'd love to let you taste.

Brazil produces some 2,720,520 tons of coffee per year. Of this, 67 percent is Arabica and 33 percent is Robusta. In Brazil, Robusta is usually called Conillon and is produced in regions such as Rondonia.
