Ethiopia coffee country
Ethiopia is a real coffee country, partly because they have a great genetic diversity of coffee plants. Read on quickly about the flavors of Ethiopian coffee.
Ethiopia coffee country
Ethiopia is the cradle of coffee. Coffee cultivation here is not a legacy of colonization, which is the case in many other coffee-producing countries, but stems from an already wild crop on land half of which is more than 1,500 meters above sea level. The coffee here grows mainly in gardens and in the (semi)forest, without the use of pesticides, making the cultivation basically organic (however, not certified).
Ethiopia is home to the greatest genetic diversity of coffee plants and varieties of Arabica in the world. Single estate coffees can be found from Ethiopia, but usually the coffee leads back to a specific cooperative.
The flavours of Ethiopian coffees are remarkably diverse - from citrus, often bergamot and floral to candied fruit or even tropical fruit flavours.
